Wrecks in the Desert: Part 2 by resbian2002 Wrecks in the Desert: Part 2 by resbian2002
Went out for a quick drink at the Urandangie Pub on the weekend. Only a 200k drive for a couple of beers. Anyway, saw some decent wrecks on the side of the road and some spectacular landscape so it was definitely worth it.

Looks like something our of a Soundgarden music video. In particular I'm thinking "Burden in my hand."

I would have gone more for "Black Hole Sun" myself. I got the effect unintentionally with a polarised filter and really bright sunlight. It was an incredibly hot day, somewhere above 40 degrees.

Well black hole sun did not happen in the desert is my reasoning. Plus Black hole sun had a much darker cloudy fantasy theme.

True it didn't happen in the desert but the sky sort of alternated from blue to black. Either way, both songs are pretty good.

Almost everything Soundgarden did was awesome. Nothing they released as a single I do not like. Glad they are back producing albums their new stuff is no change in their style ether.

:iconnikki6teenplz:: As Jonesy and I have learned: best to travel out there with an accurate-as-possible map and a more-than-trusty vehicle!

Definitely a good idea. Plenty of water as well. And the first rule, stay with your car. Cars are easier to find than people.

Unfortunately there are far too many people who try walking for help and die of exposure. Had an incident out here recently, one died and one only just survived.

:iconnikki6teenplz:: Indeed.

Of course, if anybody DOES find you and your vehicle, better hope and pray that person is NOTHING like a certain Mick Taylor!

Perhaps that's why the car is still there...

Not out here they haven't. Considering it's on a dirt track off a developmental road in the middle of nowhere, it's not really surprising.

it'd be cool to find a rare or valuable car out there that's long been forgotten about.

I've seen a couple of trucks from the 40's that had been abandoned and a couple of 50's era holdens. All of them were pretty rusted out. Not much else of interest unfortunately.
